The strategic planning
and redevelopment completed by a Henna principal for the Georgetown
Inn, a popular 95-room hotel located in the trendy “Georgetown”
neighborhood in Washington, D.C., helped the Hong Kong Shanghai
Bank (HSBC) maximize its recovery on a distressed hotel loan
at a time when the hospitality industry was experiencing much
financial distress.
A thorough analysis of
the surrounding market motivated an extensive asset and management
turnaround of the hotel, thereby repositioning it as an upscale
boutique property.
The renovation included
an elegant décor package, a bar/restaurant that became
a favorite among locals as well as hotel patrons, a new fitness
facility, the correction of deferred maintenance, and upgrades
to the physical plant and systems.
